Salt and Pepper Chicken Stir Fry


  • 4 skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 2 small onions (cut into chunks)
  • 2 large green peppers (cut into chunks)
  • 500g beansprouts
  • 200g bamboo shoots
  • 200g waterchestnuts
  • 2 carrots (sliced)
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 tsp KWAN’S KITCHEN Salt & Pepper Spice
  • 4 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 4 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 tbsp water


    1. Season the chicken with 1 teaspoon of KWAN'S KITCHEN Salt & Pepper Spice. Toss the chicken slices in the cornflour and set aside.
    2. Heat a wok over high heat and add 3 tablespoons vegetable oil until it is smoking.
    3. Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until browned. Transfer the chicken onto a plate and set aside.
    4. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok, add the vegetables and stir-fry over a medium heat for 4-5 minutes until slightly softened.
    5. Return the chicken to the wok and stir to mix with the vegetables.
    6. Pour in water, both soy sauces, sugar and the rest of the KWAN'S KITCHEN Salt & Pepper Spice and heat until bubbling.
    7. Finally add sesame oil.
    8. Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
    9. Sprinkle extra KWAN'S KITCHEN Salt & Pepper Spice for more flavour. Add KWAN'S KITCHEN Szechuan Chilli Oil for extra spice and aroma.
